• Only must have own transport. Be available to work after hours when required(not often).
• Later on do paid weekend support (work from home on weekends) and only do incoming support tickets (not usual weekday work while on support at home).

Introduction

Well-established ISP is recruiting a Network System Administrator with 2 to 3 years experience.

Description

• To develop, manage and maintain a high quality network infrastructure. This includes day to day routine operations and Network solutions.
• To ensure that Wide Area Networks and Servers (Linux) are operational.
• Provide support for the following: - WAN, Routers, firewalls, security systems, Servers and network infrastructure.
• Ability to maintain & continuously improve strategies that will protect internal users from outside threats that includes viruses, hackers, SPAM etc.
• Assist with implementing new systems, troubleshoot and repair Network issues.
• Install, configure and maintain equipment such as routers and Servers.
• Monitor performance stats and action accordingly.
• Perform 2nd Line support where required.
• Ensure all Infrastructure Software and Firmware revisions are maintained.
• Perform network assessments and security audits.
• Participate in the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system.
• Deploy and troubleshoot VOIP technologies.
• Assist with the documentation of all computer systems and network infrastructure.
• Communication as required to keep internal staff informed of incident progress and outages.
• Transfer knowledge to support staff.

Profile

• Matric or technical certification.
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years' in a similar role.
• Must have own car and driver's license.

Technical skills required:

• Mikrotik knowledge
• Routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP, etc.)
• WAN Technology (MPLS, VPLS, VPN)
• Voice Technologies (VoIP, SIP Trunking)
• Familiarity with: VPNs, VOIP, SIP Trunking, BGP, VLAN
