SUMMARY:
Network and Security Support Engineer

POSITION INFO:

Our client is looking for a Mid-Senior Network and Security Support Engineer to be based at their clients offices in Bruma and provide onsite support at their various regional offices in Gauteng.

You will be provided with a company cellphone and petrol card, the client will also look at continued learning support should it be beneficial for both parties.

Office hours are Monday – Friday from 08:00 – 17:00 + Standby for network related issues.

Qualifications:

CCNA, JNCIA, ACSA, PCCSA, CCSA, NSE3 (or equivalent)

Cost to Company quoted is negotiable based on skills and experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including switches and wireless LAN (Aruba, Cisco).
Procuring network equipment and coordinating activities of subcontractors involved with network installation.
Provide first line support for firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting of Branch MPLS and SDWAN connectivity.
Investigating network performance issues and outages (LAN, WAN).
Coordinate and conduct network firmware upgrades.
Perform hands-on installation and maintenance tasks on network components such as switches, wireless and cables.
Performing disaster recovery operations.
Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.
Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring IDS protection services.
Wireless systems deployment and management skills
Monthly Network and Security SLA reporting
Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to engage with teams.
