New Product Development Manager

Well established manufacturing supplier has a vacancy for the abovementioned who's main focus is on developing and enhancing spice packs, spices, Savoury sauce, brines, marinades, working with breading’s, crumbing’s, coatings etc. The candidate should have experience in product development (ideally spices), with strong formulation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The NPD Manager will lead a team, work with customers, as well as work with flavour houses to source specialized spices and flavours for projects. POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the NPD team.
Prioritization of projects.
Take customer briefs, develop concepts, and execute formulations to meet specific requirements.
Prepare and submit product samples for customer review, making adjustments based on feedback to ensure customer satisfaction.
Source and procure spices and flavours from flavour houses for product testing and development.
Maintain close collaboration with customers (specifically development teams) throughout the development process.
Strong communication to development teams.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality guidelines.
Oversee documentation of product specifications, recipes, and production processes.
Monitor industry trends.
Experience in developing products with a keen understanding of flavours and ability to create and match flavours in spices.
 
Requirements:
Experience in food product development, specifically in spices, spice blends, and savoury sauces.
Formulation and sensory evaluation skills.
Project management and team leadership abilities.
Ability to take customer briefs, develop creative solutions, and make necessary adjustments to meet customer expectations.
Experience working with flavour houses and ingredient suppliers.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (ideally in the meat & poultry industry) .
Relevant qualification in Food Science / Food Technology.
5-8 years experience in NPD with spices.
