Job Overview

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking an ambitious, commercially astute and results-driven New Business Developer to join their growing team. This is an internal office-based opportunity, ideally suited to a dynamic sales professional who thrives on identifying opportunities, opening doors, building relationships and securing new business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and targeting new markets, generating quality leads, developing strategic relationships and converting opportunities into profitable business. This position requires a proactive hunter mentality, strong commercial acumen and the confidence to engage with decision-makers at all levels.

The role offers an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual who enjoys market research, client engagement, and solution selling and contributing directly to business growth. While primarily office-based, the successful candidate must be willing to attend client meetings, presentations and site visits when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, target and pursue new business opportunities within existing and emerging markets
• Develop and implement effective business development strategies to increase market share and revenue
• Research market trends, industry developments, competitor activity and potential growth opportunities
• Generate qualified leads through prospecting, networking, referrals and strategic business development initiatives
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
• Conduct client needs analyses and identify opportunities to provide tailored solutions
• Arrange and attend client meetings, presentations and site visits when required
• Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations, proposals and business pitches
• Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully close new business opportunities
• Maintain and manage a healthy sales pipeline to achieve growth targets
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service and client satisfaction
• Provide regular feedback regarding market intelligence, client requirements and business opportunities
• Represent the company professionally at networking events and industry functions
• Drive revenue growth through proactive business development and relationship management

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor''s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Commerce or a related field (essential)
• 3–5 years'' proven experience in business development, external sales or new business acquisition
• Demonstrated success in identifying, pursuing and closing new business opportunities
• Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of profitability and business growth
• Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written) – essential
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong relationship-building and client management abilities
• Ability to identify opportunities and convert prospects into long-term clients
• Self-motivated, target-driven and capable of working independently
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver''s licence and reliable own vehicle (essential)
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits when required
• Comfortable working in an internal office-based environment while conducting external client visits as required
