Multimodal Controller

SUMMARY:
My client is a reputable and growing company in the logistics and freight forwarding industry, known for delivering reliable and efficient international and domestic transport solutions. They are currently seeking a Multimodal Controller to join their operations team and oversee the coordination of shipments across sea, air and road.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilties:

• Coordinate and monitor shipments across multiple transport modes (air, sea and road)
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of all freight documentation.
• Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth cargo movement.
• Track and report on shipment statuses and proactively manage potential delays or issues.
• Ensure full compliance with local and international transport regulations and Incoterms.
• Assist with costing and invoicing.

• Minimum 3–5 years experience in a logistics, freight forwarding, or transport coordination role.
• Proven experience with multimodal shipments and understanding of international freight logistics.
• Proficiency in shipping systems, customs documentation, and Incoterms.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple shipments, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, shipment tracking systems).
• Knowledge of SARS customs systems is a strong advantage.
