Mould Operator (steel foundry, iron casting, continuous casting, or heavy metal manufacturing)

SUMMARY:
Recruiting Mould Operator to operate, monitor, prepare, and maintain moulds and associated equipment used in the production of iron and steel castings. Ensure moulds are correctly prepared, assembled, and operated to meet production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare moulds for casting operations according to production specifications.
• Inspect moulds for defects, wear, damage, or contamination before use.
• Set up and operate moulding equipment and associated machinery.
• Monitor casting and moulding processes to ensure product quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Remove finished castings and perform basic visual quality inspections.
• Report defects, abnormalities, equipment failures, and production issues.
• Conduct routine cleaning and basic maintenance of moulds and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Record production data and complete required documentation.
• Assist with changeovers, mould repairs, and production optimization activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• 3 to 5 years experience as a Mould Operator, Moulding Operator, Casting Operator, Foundry Operator, or similar role within a steel, iron, foundry, casting, or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with iron or steel casting processes.
• Ability to read production instructions and quality specifications.
• Knowledge of mould preparation, mould maintenance, and casting procedures.
• Understanding of workplace safety requirements in a heavy industrial environment.
• Physically fit and willing to work shifts.
