MOTOR MECHANIC

One of our international Automotive OEM Client is looking for a Motor Mechanic to join their team based in Kariega, Eastern Cape. Executes mechanical service and repair activities at Service Garage. The role entails the below

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing Passenger and Commercial vehicles to manufacturer standards.
The role includes performing mechanical and electrical repairs, ensuring vehicle safety and reliability, and maintaining high-quality workmanship.
The mechanic must stay up to date with technical information, follow workshop procedures and safety regulations, maintain a clean workspace, support apprentice training, and ensure all work—whether completed in-house or by suppliers—meets required quality standards

Duties & Responsibilities

Servicing and repair on passenger & commercial vehicles
Performing all electrical repairs on passenger & commercial vehicles
Ensuring road safety through quality workmanship
Staying abreast of development by reading workshop bulletins and workshop manuals
Ensuring that workshop regulations and safety are adhering to
Maintaining a clean working area
Training allocated apprentices
Assisting with preparing vehicles for Press launches
Fitment of required accessories to our models
Ensuring that all work carried out in the workshop or by the appointed supplier is of the required quality

Desired Experience & Qualification

Have a minimum N3 Mechanical /Electrical Engineering
Trade Test Certificate Motor Mechanic
Valid Master Technician qualification at dealer level
Have 3 years’ post-qualification experience in an aftersales workshop environment
Computer literacy (Ms Office).
Require ODIS and ElsaPro knowledge.
Operational knowledge of Volkswagen Group diagnostic equipment (VAS/VCI)
Be capable of working without supervision to high safety and quality standards.
Have proven technical knowledge and its applications and be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
Be flexible when required to work overtime at short notice.
Be in possession of an un-endorsed driver’s license (minimum old Code 08).
High Voltage Certificate is an advantage
