Join an established South African manufacturing group operating continuous-production lines within the plastics and packaging industry. The business specialises in plastic film extrusion, thermoformed blister packaging and related packaging solutions. This opportunity suits an experienced Millwright who thrives in a fast-paced production environment where equipment reliability, uptime, preventative maintenance and technical excellence are critical.

Take ownership of mechanical and electrical maintenance across production equipment, responding to breakdowns and completing planned preventative maintenance. Fault-find PLCs, VSDs, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics, while maintaining extrusion and thermoforming equipment. Lead and mentor maintenance staff, coordinate shutdown maintenance, maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure equipment complies with required health and safety standards.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Trade-Tested Millwright (Red Seal/QCTO) with Matric or N3 equivalent.
Minimum 7 years' post-trade experience within a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
Plastics manufacturing experience, ideally involving extrusion, thermoforming or injection moulding, is highly advantageous.
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, including PLCs (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), VSDs, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Proven experience maintaining continuous-production machinery, with strong preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and team leadership capabilities.
