A well-established FMCG/manufacturing company based in Atlantis Industrial has an exciting opportunity available for a qualified Millwright to join their Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will play a key role in ensuring optimal plant performance and production uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical faults to maximise plant uptime
- Replace defective machine components and adjust alignment of moving parts
- Perform machine repairs, lubrication, installation, and dismantling according to technical drawings
- Assist with supervision and coordination of maintenance activities
- Support the maintenance team with general tasks when required
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and plant procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Trade Test Certificate: Millwright (Red Seal)
- Minimum 2 years experience in an FMCG/manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments
- Own reliable transport
- Excellent communication, planning, and multitasking ability
- A flexible and proactive get it done attitude
Advantageous Experience & Skills
- Wiremans License
- Ammonia handling training
- Exposure to food processing environments
- Experience with instrumentation, PLC (S5), AC/DC drives, and HMI systems
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety standards, and SOPs
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
Working Hours
Candidates must be flexible to work shifts, including:
- Day Shift: 08h00 – 17h30 or 06h00 – 15h30
- Night Shift: 17h30 – 03h00
- Standby, weekends, and public holidays may be required based on operational needs
