SUMMARY:
Seeking a Midwife with Private Hospital Experience.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

• Registered Professional Nurse with valid SANC registration
• Advanced Midwifery qualification
• Relevant experience in Maternity and Midwifery
• Previous experience in a private hospital environment will be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
• Ability to manage normal and high-risk pregnancies
• Competent in conducting deliveries and managing obstetric emergencies
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Professional, compassionate and patient-centred approach

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive midwifery care to mothers and newborns
• Conduct antenatal assessments and provide appropriate care
• Manage patients throughout labour and delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal wellbeing
• Identify and appropriately manage obstetric complications and emergencies
• Conduct normal deliveries within scope of practice
• Provide postnatal care and support
• Provide newborn care and assist with neonatal emergencies
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
• Educate and support mothers and families
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards
• Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses and the multidisciplinary team
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, SANC standards and professional nursing practice
