Microsoft Power BI Developer

SUMMARY:
A dynamic, technology-driven consulting organisation is seeking an experienced Microsoft Power BI Developer to join its Business Intelligence team. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming complex business data into meaningful insights through the development of enterprise-grade Power BI solutions.

This role requires a highly analytical professional who is passionate about business intelligence, data visualisation, and delivering impactful reporting solutions. Working closely with stakeholders, you will gather business requirements, develop scalable data models, optimise data pipelines, and deliver interactive dashboards that support strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Power BI professional with strong SQL expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a client-focused approach to delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI data models, dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards.
• Develop and optimise Microsoft SQL Server queries, views, and ETL processes.
• Build interactive visualisations that deliver meaningful business insights.
• Develop and maintain Paginated Reports for automated report distribution.
• Utilise Power BI Dataflows to support data preparation and transformation.
• Administer and optimise Power BI environments, including Gateway configuration and scheduled data refreshes.
• Ensure data quality through effective cleansing, validation, and transformation processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across reporting and BI environments.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver scalable and reliable Business Intelligence solutions.
• Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and optimisation of existing reporting environments.

• Strong experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions.
• Advanced Microsoft SQL Server development and query optimisation skills.
• Experience building Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic data models.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration techniques.
• Experience administering Power BI environments, including Gateways and scheduled refreshes.
• Solid understanding of data quality, data transformation, and data governance principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative project teams.

• Experience with Power BI Premium features.
• Experience developing Paginated Reports.
• Knowledge of Power BI Dataflows.
• Understanding of Microsoft Windows environments, networking fundamentals, and application support.
• Exposure to financial services or enterprise consulting environments.
• Understanding of accounting principles.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Microsoft Power BI Certifications or related Microsoft certifications are highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience developing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Power BI solutions.
