POSITION INFO:
A leading international smart metering solutions provider is seeking a Metering Technician to join their field services team in Cape Town. This is a remote, field-based position suited to a trustworthy, self-motivated Technician who takes ownership of their work and enjoys being on the road.
You’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting smart metering systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
Non-Negotiable Requirements:
- Trade qualification or recognised Electrician Certification
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in metering installation, electrical maintenance, or a similar field
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- Sound knowledge of metering systems, wiring, and relevant electrical regulations
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (essential)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Experience & Skills Required:- Install, test, and configure electricity, water, and gas meters
- Diagnose and repair meter faults and communication issues
- Perform scheduled maintenance and ensure meter accuracy
- Capture and verify readings for precise data reporting
- Provide customer support and basic technical guidance
- Adhere to all safety standards when working with electrical and water systems
