SUMMARY:
Our client based in Cape Town is seeking an on-the-ball and attentive Merchandise Manager that will excel in a fast-paced retail/FMCG environment and thrive under pressure.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric.
- Relevant qualification.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role in a Retail/FMCG environment.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Procurement of all products for related area/stores.
- Dealing with suppliers on a day-to-day basis to procure products at competitive prices.
- Negotiating ad-hoc spending.
- Trading Terms.
- Managing Forward Share and Merchandising.
- Managing pricing department.
- Managing promotions and ensuring that appropriate marketing, such as leaflets are relevant and inline.
- Customer Relations.
- Managing shrinkage and Sales Committees.
- Overseeing day-to-day operations, such as receiving and stock control.
- Ensuring that the sales floor is kept up to standard.
- Control of obsolete stocks.
- Ensuring that stock holdings are inline.
- Management of all HR Relations.
