SUMMARY:
Hillcrest, Upper Highway. Opportunity exists for meticulous, customer service orientated Medical Administrator with previous experience in a Doctor’s room dealing with Medical Aid billing processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling appointments and managing diaries
  • Capturing patient data and relevant medical information on the billing system
  • Maintenance of patient records and files
  • Liaising with the Hospital Case Management team and other departments as needed
  • Booking theatre slates, hospital beds etc.
  • Daily billing and invoicing
  • Monitoring budget and billing payments
  • Resolving queries with medical aids and patients
  • Providing reports, letters of motivation and other documentation as needed
  • Ordering medical and office supplies
  • Managing inventory
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Medical Administrator / Practice Administrator
  • Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative processes and principles
  • Ability to handle medical records discreetly
  • Knowledge of medical issues and terminology
  • Knowledge of medical aid billing processes as well as billing codes and requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations
  • Communication skills and a customer service orientation
