SUMMARY:
A well-established and respected engineering organisation, based on the West Rand (Krugersdorp), is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer with strong project experience and a passion for engaging with clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to transition into a client-facing environment, combining technical expertise with commercial exposure in the mining sector.

POSITION INFO:

Mechanical Engineer – Projects & Client Solutions (Mining Industry)

This position is ideal for an Engineer who wants to move beyond purely technical responsibilities and build a career in solutions-driven sales and client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and execute mechanical engineering projects related to mining equipment and plant operations
Engage directly with mining clients to understand operational requirements and challenges
Provide technical input and support in the specification and supply of aftermarket spares
Identify opportunities to grow aftermarket and spares sales within existing and new client bases
Deliver technical presentations and proposals tailored to client needs
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
Collaborate with internal engineering, production, and service teams to ensure seamless delivery

Minimum Requirements:

BEng Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a project-based engineering environment
Exposure to mining, mineral processing, or heavy equipment industries
Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and components
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients
Willingness to transition into a client-facing and sales-oriented role

Advantageous:

Previous experience working with vibrating equipment, screening, or mineral processing machinery
Exposure to aftermarket support and spare parts environments
Commercial awareness and an interest in technical sales
Professional registration (preferred)
