SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter for my client in the Power Sation Industry, based in, Kempton Park. Will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of mechanical equipment throughout the plant with full awareness of all safety and emergency measures

POSITION INFO:

Responability:

Maintain integrity of mechanical equipment throughout the plant
Maximise machine efficiencies and reduce machine breakdown times
Attend to all breakdowns during or outside normal working hours
Ensure all critical spares are readily available - maintaining inventory to minimise downtime to the operation
Carry out routine inspections of plant equipment and report any defects, dangerous acts or occurrences and take relevant action
Maintain the scheduled maintenance system and all related documentation
Be trained and obtain authorisation within a reasonable period of time as Responsible Person to take out Permits to Work when necessary
Assist with the development and improvement of operating procedures on an on-going basis in step with modern technology & equipment
Assist with developing, maintaining and updating of plant records and drawings
Develop an in-depth knowledge of power plant operation and generation of electricity

Qualification:

Grade 12 (Standard 10) / NQF Level 4 Qualification
NQF Level 3 – Mechanical Engineering
Computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in mechanical maintenance of Fossil Fuel Fired Power Plant or heavy industrial experience
Working knowledge of all aspects of Fossil Power Plant operations & the generation of electricity
Experience with maintenance of Boiler Feed Pumps and white metal bearing repairs an added advantage
