Mechanical Draughtsman

POSITION INFO:

The organisation delivers projects across multiple disciplines and operates within a collaborative, technology-driven environment, with a strong focus on BIM, technical excellence and integrated project delivery.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Draughtsperson to join the mechanical engineering team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate mechanical services drawings and 3D models, working primarily within Revit MEP and AutoCAD.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in building services draughting, particularly across HVAC, wet services, medical gas and fire protection systems, and be comfortable working in a coordinated BIM environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical services drawings, including:
• HVAC layouts
• Wet services
• Medical gas systems
• Fire protection systems
• Other applicable building services
• Develop and maintain Revit families.
• Produce detailed 3D models, sections and technical details.
• Prepare and manage technical equipment schedules.
• Import and export Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and related information.
• Carry out 3D coordination of mechanical drawings with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within a BIM environment.
• Assist with ensuring drawings and models comply with project requirements and technical standards.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 3 years'' relevant mechanical draughting experience.
• Proven experience using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Experience with mechanical 3D modelling.
• Experience working on building services projects will be highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Relevant draughting qualification.
• AutoCAD and Revit MEP certification.
• B.Tech or National Diploma in a relevant field will be advantageous.

Working Environment
