SUMMARY:

Mechanical Draughtsman

Location: Kempton Park, Gauteng
A leading engineering and manufacturing company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Draughtsman to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a draughting professional with a strong mechanical design background and a passion for producing accurate technical drawings for manufacturing and production environments.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Create and modify detailed mechanical drawings using CAD software.
Develop manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with engineering specifications.
Collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and project stakeholders.
Ensure drawings comply with relevant industry standards and company requirements.
Maintain and update drawing registers, revisions, and engineering documentation.
Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated technical documentation.
Assist with design improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support manufacturing processes by providing technical draughting expertise.

Minimum Requirements:

National Diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering Draughting.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman within a manufacturing, mining, or heavy engineering environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
Experience producing fabrication, assembly, and production drawings.
Ability to interpret and work from engineering calculations, specifications, and concept designs.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Advantageous:

Experience within the mining, mineral processing, or materials handling industry.
Knowledge of sheet metal, fabrication, and machining practices.
Exposure to PDM systems and engineering change management processes.
