Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Artisan to join a site maintenance team in Ngodwana. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform routine, preventative, and predictive maintenance on mechanical plant machinery.
· Troubleshoot mechanical faults, perform repairs, and resolve breakdowns efficiently.
· Service mechanical components including compressors, valves, fans, pumps, gearboxes, drives, couplings, conveyors, and dampers.
· Maintain equipment service records using CMMS maintenance software.
· Prepare and reinstate work areas in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
· Work shift rotation and overtime as required.
Requirements & Experience
· Trade Test Certificate / Red Seal (Mechanical Fitter, Turner, or related mechanical trade from a recognized facility preferred).
· 3–5 years post-apprenticeship experience in a similar industrial plant environment.
· Solid understanding of mechanical machinery principles, safety standards, and operational practices.
· Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and basic tool/measurement competencies.
· Leadership, communication, and computer skills (MS Office).
