Marketing Assistant

SUMMARY:
Our client, a successful national retail chain nationally based is looking to employ a Marketing Assistant on an 80 hours / month basis in Midrand, Gauteng. Time can be split between working from home and working from the office.

POSITION INFO:

Reporting lines:

The role reports to the Head of Operations.

No staff report to this role, but will work closely with the Graphic Designer, who is a full-time member of staff.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Social Media

• Create and implement monthly Facebook and Instagram campaigns, with consistent look and feel of all creative content, in-line with the brand persona.
• Respond to social media posts.
• Identify opportunities and implement effective boosting campaigns as agreed from time to time.

Monthly special offers

• Implement the advertising of agreed monthly product specials across all marketing platforms, with consistent look and feel of all creative content, in-line with the brand persona:
• in-store posters, website banners, email campaigns, SMS campaigns.
• Note that the Graphic Designer will assist in the creation of content but responsibility lies with the Marketing Assistant to implement.

In-store marketing (posters/signage/clearance displays etc.)

• Ensure all in-store elements reflect a consistent look and feel, in-line with the brand persona.

New stores (up to 3 per annum)

• Manage the implementation (order/deliver/install) of all in-store marketing elements for new stores.
• Assist in the creation and take charge of execution of marketing campaigns for new stores.

Provide input in the development of a marketing strategy (with management and possible external agency).

All marketing activities to be managed in accordance with agreed strategy and budget.

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role, ideally in a retail environment.
• Experience using Facebook and Instagram as marketing tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including creative writing.
• DTP skills would be an advantage.
• Very well organised, ability to work independently.
• High attention to detail.
• Dependable and reliable.

WORKING HOURS:

80 hours / week

Negotiable, depending on experience
