SUMMARY:
A leading professional services firm is seeking an exceptional Manager: Monthly Accounts to lead its monthly accounting division. This is the most senior management role within the firm before partnership and offers a clear pathway to equity. The successful candidate will oversee a portfolio of key clients while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring operational excellence, technical quality, compliance and commercial growth.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

B.Com Honours degree (essential).
CA (SA) or equivalent professional designation.
Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience within a professional services accounting environment.
Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory or management role.
Proven experience leading teams of four or more professionals.
Advanced expertise in monthly accounting, VAT, payroll, PAYE, annual compliance and financial reporting.
Expert user of at least two of the following: Xero, Pastel and Eureka.
Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling, payroll systems and practice management software.
Proven track record of delivering commercial and strategic financial advisory services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor and develop a team of 6-12 employees, including Supervisors, Accountants and Clerks.
Manage workflow planning and ensure the timely delivery of all monthly, quarterly and annual compliance obligations.
Oversee a portfolio of complex and high-value clients, providing expert guidance and strategic financial advice.
Act as the primary technical resource for accounting, payroll, VAT, PAYE, annual compliance and firm systems.
Drive client retention, identify growth opportunities and support business development initiatives.
Collaborate with Tax, AFS, CIPC, Billing and other departments to deliver seamless client service.
Maintain oversight of portfolio management, workflow reporting and process integrity through Infinity.
Ensure compliance with firm standards, legislative requirements and service delivery expectations.
Champion staff development, succession planning and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
