Manager: Bid Department

Requirements:

• Engineering or financial degree
• In-depth understanding of bid compilation in the built environment, preferably in the consulting engineering industry
• Thorough understanding of the bid process and proven managerial experience are non-negotiable
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bid compilation is required
• Able to work under pressure 
• Good Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to analyse data
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise
• Ability to perform work under strict deadlines

KPAs:

• Identifying the geographic regions in which the companies will submit bids
• Manage all activities of the bid department
• Responsible for managing the bid index
• Must oversee bid compilations and do spot checks to verify compliance while at the same time also reviewing bids to establish the technical quality
• Responsible for compiling and monitoring the annual budget for the submission of bids, inclusive of document fees, staff costs, delivery costs, etc. 
• Maintain a database that summarises the cost and trends associated with bid collection, delivery and preparation
