SUMMARY:
Are you studying engineering or hold an artisan qualification/certificate, and interested in practical maintenance within the food manufacturing sector? We invite students to join our maintenance team, either at our creamery (dairy processing) or our meat traders abattoir. This hands-on internship is ideal for those wanting to gain applied experience, master essential skills, and contribute to safe, efficient food production environments.
About the Role:
As a Maintenance Student Intern, you’ll work directly with experienced technicians maintaining and repairing critical equipment and infrastructure. Rotations include exposure to electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and production line systems used in dairy processing or meat production settings.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Support preventative and reactive maintenance on machinery (motors, pumps, conveyors, chillers, hydraulics, etc.)
• Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment breakdowns
• Learn to perform basic repairs under supervision (welding, plumbing, electrical, mechanical)
• Adhere to maintenance schedules, keeping accurate logs and records
• Maintain facility hygiene and equipment sanitation to meet food safety standards
• Collaborate with operators and staff to minimize downtime
• Apply safety, compliance, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
• Participate in projects to upgrade or improve plant reliability

• Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, an engineering diploma/certificate (electrical, mechanical, mechatronic, or refrigeration) OR artisan/trade qualification
• Interest in food production, plant maintenance, or industrial engineering
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills, positive attitude, and attention to detail
• Willingness to perform manual and technical tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools, safety standards, or production machinery is advantageous
• Driver’s license preferred but not mandatory
• Available to work January 2026 to January 2027
