Maintenance Handyman

SUMMARY:
Do you have a solid track record of being in a maintenance role at a Food Manufacturing concern? This role includes handyman jobs from plumbing to electrical knowledge with the ability to identify phases and basic electrical components etc. Essential to be able to complete small jobs using hand and power tools.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Matric, drivers license and own vehicle preferable

Min 3  years maintenance experience

Admin skills and computer literate

Ability to work independently and take instructions well

Basic electrical knowledge which includes being able to identify phases, and basic electrical components.

Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate well in a team

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong mechanical and handyman knowledge base with the ability to use hand and power tools and basic machinery

Must be physically capable of performing the job

Knowledge of Plumbing, Electrical

Ocupational Health & Safety regulations

Forklift License advantageous

DUTIES

Conduct inspection of buildings, identification of problems, organization of repairs and replacements

Report repair requirements and reporting to management

Doing basic handyman work where and when required

Completing small jobs using hand and power tools

Meeting or liaising with service providers and or contractors with quotes and advising management

Assisting the cleaning team and general assistants to ensure factory cleanliness & operational readiness on a daily basis

Liaising with contractors for maintenance

Update all registers such as tools and asset checklists are kept up to date

Update water meter reading daily and report outliers

Update fuel reading daily for forklifts & analyse usage and report outliers

Attending staff meetings and planning meetings with outside contractors, service providers and landlords if and when required

Dealing with OHS Audits

Salary:   R14 – R16k cost to company including Provident Fund, salary dependent on experience
