Maintenance Electrician

SUMMARY:
Shift position, overseeing electrical maintenance, fault finding and breakdowns within the plant.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Qualified Electrician (trade)
• Wireman's License
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electrician in an industrial environment
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings
• Strong understanding of PLC controls
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures and specified tools
• Computer literacy
• Own reliable transport
• Ability to communicate, understand, read and write English
• Must be punctual (essential)
• Willing to work as per shift assignments

• Inspect electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects, faults or malfunctions and diagnose issue.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and implement corrective action to restore functionality.
• Perform electrical work with heavy duty machinery.
• Perform electrical work with industrial communications, motor and generator systems.
• Install and maintain grounding systems, surge protectors and electrical safety devices to protect against electrical hazards, shocks and fires.
• Provide technical guidance and support accordingly
• Maintain wiring of various electrical equipment and gadgets.
• Assemble or uninstall electrical equipment.
• Test installed electrical devices to determine quality and condition
