Maintenance & Gardener

Somerset West

Salary: R4,800 per month

Working Hours: 08:00 – 17:00 (One short week, one long week, including weekends)

RecruitSmith is recruiting a Maintenance & Gardener for a well-established retirement village in Somerset West.

If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in maintaining beautiful gardens, and have basic maintenance skills, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, trees, hedges, and walkways
Water plants, remove weeds, and ensure gardens remain neat and attractive
General landscaping and garden maintenance
Keep all outdoor areas clean and free of litter
Perform general maintenance including:
Painting
Minor repairs
Woodwork maintenance
Ceiling repairs
General upkeep of buildings and facilities
Maintain swimming pools, ponds, drains, gutters, fireplaces, and outdoor furniture
Complete maintenance job cards and report repairs promptly
Follow all health, safety, and infection control procedures

Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 or equivalent
Previous gardening or general maintenance experience
Able to read, write, and communicate in English and Afrikaans
Clean criminal record
Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
