MRM: Statistician - Orkney

SUMMARY:
Our client in Orkney in the mine industry is looking for a Mineral Resource Management (MRM) Statistician with a BSc Honours degree in Geology, Mathematics or Statistics to join them.

Salary depending on experience and qualifications.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• BSc Honours degree in Geology, Mathematics or Statistics
• 3 - 5 Years experience working with statistical analysis in the mining, geology or mineral resources environment (Essential)
• Strong knowledge of statistical and data-analysis methods
• Experience with statistical or geological software and data management systems
• Strong MS Excel skills, experience with geostatistical software will be advantageous
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary mining environment
• Knowledge and experience in mineral resource estimation, classification and QA / QC principles
• Analyze and interpret geological, exploration, sampling and production data
• Conduct data validation, quality control and statistical reviews
• Assist with monthly resource models and grade control models
• Identify trends, anomalies, variability and potential risks within mining data
• Assist with processes and reporting
• Collaborate with Geologist, Mining Engineers, Surveyors, Metallurgists and other Technical Teams
