MILLWRIGHT - FMCG

SUMMARY:
The main responsibility of this position is to carry out routine and preventative maintenance of all allocated plant and equipment, machinery, facilities and the machining of components and spares.

Do you have?

• Qualified Trade Certificate as a Millwright
• Minimum of 5 years of plant maintenance experience
• Minimum 5 years of Turning and Machining experience
• Forklift driver's license advantageous
• Experience in a manufacturing environment advantageous
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment advantageous
• Experience with Tool and Parts Management
• Experience in ARC, TIG and MIG welding advantageous
• Own transport 

POSITION INFO:
RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Maintain plant equipment
• Perform plant maintenance during the shutdown period
• Understand and interpret new drawings and manuals
• Install new machines and equipment as and when instructed
•  Responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant
• Do regular inspections of plant equipment
• Give feedback to Maintenance Supervisors on breakdown root cause analyses
• Attend to all relevant breakdowns during standby period
• Complete DMS Work orders and Work order book to keep a record of work completed
• Apply for parts by making use of the requisition procedure
• Operate the Leathe and Milling machine to manufacture parts and spares
• Machine calibrations and setups
• Automation improvements and installation of electrical equipment
• Maintenance and improvements on electrical control systems

• Ensure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies
• Ensure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles
• Regular goal reviews are completed to assess achievement of results
• Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
• Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
• Ensure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements

•  Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
•  Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
