Logistics Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Our client, a national manufacturing company currently seeks a Logistics Supervisor (Outbound), to organise and maintain the inventory and storage area, so as to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying and dispatching the finished products.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Matric.
• National Diploma: Inventory & Operations Management/Supply Chain Management.
• B.Com (Logistics & Supply Chain Management) a strong advantage.
• Min 5 years’ experience warehousing/inventory/transportation & dispatch) within a manufacturing environment.
• Firm grasp/understanding of logistics activities and processes.
• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.
• Full knowledge of MS Office.

Key Performance Areas:

Dispatch:

• Dispatch stock from finished goods warehouse.
• Receive customer call-off from OEM’s.
• Co-ordinate & monitor deliveries and allocate transporter (delivery planning).
• Locate orders for picking and check parts identification against order.
• Check deliver notes (customer signature, stamp, etc.).

Warehousing:

• Maintain FIFO principle.
• Maintain, monitor and report on days stock holding.
• Achieve and maintain minimum of 95% stock accuracy.
• Ensure inventory transaction accuracy (receiving/dispatching).
• Identify areas of improvement and establish policies and/or adjust existing policies.
• Organise and maintain storage area.
• Report on obsolete, aged and damaged stock.
• Monthly stock takes.

Staff Management:

• Supervise the team to achieve work unit objectives.
• Communicate job expectation and coach employees.
• Conduct outcomes-based assessments.
• Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels.
• Ensure discipline is maintained in department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.).
• Resolve grievances and disputes.
