Logistics Supervisor
Spartan, Kempton Park
R25 000 - R30 000 CTC per month

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

Matric
Tertiary Qualification in Logistics or Logistics qualification
Minimum of 5 years experience in the transportation and or distribution environment that includes vehicle maintenance

Requirements

Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.
Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Act.
Valid driver's licence.
Knowledge of legal requirements for transporting dangerous goods.
Planning, performance management, and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure vehicles are available when required.
Manage and maintain daily logistics planning.
Ensure all required dangerous goods notices and signage are available and correctly displayed on trucks.
Coordinate with production and distribution managers to prioritise transportation needs.
Communicate with sales staff if delivery commitments cannot be met.
Conduct spot checks to ensure vehicle cleanliness and correct PPE compliance.
Ensure drivers complete and submit daily vehicle checklists.
Report vehicle breakdowns to the Logistics Manager immediately and coordinate with the workshop for repairs.
Train drivers on the driver manual requirements and review/update the manual when necessary.
Carry out additional duties assigned by the Logistics Manager.
