POSITION INFO:
Logistics Manager
Supply Chain
Provide strategic management of logistic, people and resources, to ensure excellent customer service and efficient logistic process.
Job Purpose
Strategically drive and manage the dispatching within an allocated region, whilst ensuring regular interaction between logistics and other internal departments. To organise the distribution of goods. Ensure that the right products, Crickley and Twizza are delivered to the right location on time in full while ensuring no additional costs accrue. Understand the whole supply chain and coordinate it effectively and liaise with all shareholders. Being in charge of the health and safety of people and goods. Carry out any other reasonable instructions.
Key Accountabilities and Outputs
People
- Manage staff through setting performance objectives, measures and conducting reviews and feedback
- Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
- Training staff and monitoring their performance and progress.
- Set training plan for the staff
- Recruit, select, motivate, supervise, coach and train the Logistics team.
- Conducting performing reviews and setting expectations for the next quarter, on a quarterly basis.
Cost
- Analyse data to plan & improve cost savings
- Set and manage financial budgets
- Co-ordinate cost-effective equipment maintenance and servicing
- Manage and monitor all stock variance, returns and losses.
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly stock taking reports to be compiled with reasons and actions for stock losses and variances.
- Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, costs and efficiency.
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
Optimise Logistics Performance
- KPI's measured & regular updates on VPM boards (Visual Performance Management)
- Possesses in place to enable us to measure drivers
- Drivers Reward & Recognition

- Documentation Control
Compliance:
- All trucks to comply with interstate traffic laws and regulations
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in - Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
- Minimum 5 years' management experience in a logistics position is essential.
- Related work experience, such as warehousing, storage, retail or administration, could be an advantage and is relatively easy to obtain.
