Logistics Coordinator

SUMMARY:
My client within the manufacturing sector is seeking a well experienced individual to join their team as a logistics coordinator. They are well established within the industry and has a footprint internationally. Previous exposure as a logistics coordinator is a non-negotiable.

POSITION INFO:

Education:
·         Completed matric
·         Completed relevant degree OR National Diploma
 
Requirements:
·         6 years’ experience within a similar role dealing with imports and exports.
·         Export and import exposure and experience coordinating everything.
 
Duties and responsibilities amongst others:
·         Responsible for activities relating to imports, exports and cross trades.
·         Coordinating import and export activities including reviewing documents received from freight forwarders, customs and local transporters, tracking and tracing cargo, creating arrival notices and making arrangements for international cross trades, arranging COC inspections, arranging SADC certificates, EUR 1 movement certificates, Certificates of Origins etc., and handling delivery instructions.
·         Generating, filing, and maintaining up-to-date customer records, reports, documentation, database, etc.
·         Coordinating shipments with importers, exporters, truckers, and carriers.
·         Advising on tariff codes for different products.
·         Preparing billing packages received from vendors.
·         Arranging cargo movement to international destinations, making bookings and preparing and processing shipping documents.
·         Providing price quotations within established guidelines for air, ocean, road freight shipments.
·         Working in a blended operations and customer development role.
·         Handling international drop-shipments as per business standards and operational procedures.
·         Managing healthy and sustainable relationships with transport providers, freight forwarders, vendors, and others to help resolve shipping issues.
