Company Description:

Our client, a leading environmental management and products company, is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their team.  This position will be based in Pretoria East.

Job Description:

The purpose of the Logistics Coordinator  will be the management and execution of import/export documents and requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Managing and execution of import/export documents and requirements
• Monitor product import and/or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements
• Negotiate rates with freight forwarders
• Continuous follow-ups to determine accurate ETA
• Weekly planning and feedback of shipment movements and stock delivery/arrival
• After-hours contact with all relevant parties
• Arrange Collections and Deliveries
• Build and maintain good relationships with internal Business Units
• Recommend optimal transportation modes and routing
• Establish and/or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
• Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, logs and fleet records:  manage fleet-book services, repairs and maintenance, diesel usage, file monthly kilos and checklists, license renewals, de-registrations, change of ownerships (from bank to company) report private kilos to Finance to recover, insurance process/incident management, manage installation and removals of tracking units etc.
• Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues
• Negotiate transportation rates or services
• Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations
• Manage vehicle costs to ensure that they are in line with budget

Educational Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Relevant National Diploma / Degree in Logistics

Experience and Skills Required:

• Minimum 4 – 8 years logistics experience
• A broad knowledge of sea freight, handling of project cargo, road freight, cross border, imports and exports
• Strong communication skills
• Creative problem-solving and good negotiating skills
• SAGE Evolution experience (advantageous)
