Logistics Controller - 7 months FTC (FMCG)

SUMMARY:
A vacancy currently exists for a Logistics Controller. The successful candidate will report to the Logistics Manager for a FTC of 7 months.

POSITION INFO:

The criteria and requirements are as follows: 

• Computer Literate (Word / Excel (intermediate level) / Outlook)
• Knowledge of Iroot (stock management systems) for allocating pallets, bookings, day to day processing and reports is advantageous
• Intermediate numerical abilities (calculations and numerical reasoning, reconciliations)
• A relevant tertiary qualification or experience in Logistics 
• Must be willing to work Long hours and on Weekends and public holidays

 

Overview of key activities: 

• Bookings and forecasting with forwarding agent
• Selection of vessels per required ETA
• Allocating and managing of stock
• Resolving stock queries
• Streamlines shipping and transportation processes within the supply chain
• Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and supply chain cycle to make sure established deadlines are met
• Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and cold store rates to keep costs down where possible
