SUMMARY:
Luxury Lodge in the Garden Route (Sedgefield area) is looking for a Lodge Manager.
This lodge offers guests a rare blend of eco-luxury, adventure and serenity, with tailored activities that celebrate the surrounding fynbos biome, wildlife and ocean vistas.
We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Lodge Manager who will embody the lodge ethos and lead the team in delivering an exceptional, memorable experience for every guest.
The Lodge Manager will be responsible for overall management of a 9-room luxury lodge, bistro and wedding venue.
POSITION INFO:
Duties:
Oversee daily lodge operations, including front of house, housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and the wedding venue.
Collaborate with the operations and fi nance teams to manage budgets, control costs, and ensure operational sustainability.
Ensure all statutory, environmental, and health & safety standards are met and upheld.
Support the Bistro team to maintain excellence in cuisine, presentation, and service.
Oversee scheduling, performance, and welfare of all lodge staff.
Drive internal communication, motivation, and professional development.
Handle HR processes such as performance discussions, disciplinary procedures, and leave management in line with company policies and in collaboration with the HR Manager.
Coordinate with the marketing and reservations teams to ensure accurate availability, rates, and promotions.
Ensure supplier relationships and procurement follow group standards.
Work closely with event coordinators to ensure seamless delivery from enquiry to execution.
Represent the lodge as a destination for bespoke celebrations and eco-retreats.
Requirements:
Grade 12
A formal qualification in hospitality / lodge management
A minimum 5 years’ management experience in luxury lodge or boutique hotel operations.
Interest in natural areas and activities associated with this location
Own transport and drivers’ licence (essential)
Solid knowledge of wine, food, and beverage operations.
Financial acumen with ability to manage budgets and control costs.
Ability to multitask, think on your feet and being flexible to changing nature of the business
South African citizenship or valid work permit
