Southern Oil Pty Ltd, an established company and market leader in the manufacturing of Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, has the following exciting career opportunity in Swellendam.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Short Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all products are packed effectively on the line according to the planned schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Production
    • Pack product according to production schedule as instructed by the Packaging Plant Manager and Line Supervisor.
    • Responsible for the setup of the specific line equipment worked on throughout the shift.
    • Effective operation of the production line to ensure maximum line efficiencies throughout shift.
    • Report maintenance issues to the Packaging Plant Manager, Line Supervisor and Maintenance team.
    • Assist the Maintenance team at all times when working on the equipment.
    • Ensure the final product is packed in the correct configuration during palletizing.
    • Assist with the blending of all necessary blends as instructed by the Packaging Plant Manager and Line Supervisor.
    • Maintain a clean-as-you-go principle to ensure line equipment is clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Raw Material
    • Assist the Line Supervisor to ensure that the correct packaging materials are received.
    • Ensure all damaged material is stored in the correct identified container and reported accurately.
    • Ensure all unused materials are identified, quantified and returned to stores after production.
  • Quality
    • Ensure continuous process and quality checks are being performed.
    • Ensure effective housekeeping of area of responsibility.
    • Comply with safety, food safety, and environmental procedures as per SOILL Policy.
Key Competencies:

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
  • Able to speak and write in fluent English
  • Previous experience working on bottling lines
Interpersonal Skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Disciplined and reliable
  • Must be able to work in a team and alone
