A leading printing and packaging company is seeking an experienced and driven Lamination Manager to lead its lamination operations. This role is critical to ensuring world-class production performance, product quality, and compliance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all lamination operations, including:
Lead daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
Ensure full compliance with BRCGS Packaging Materials Standard, GMP, and food safety requirements
Drive a zero-defect quality culture and ensure adherence to strict quality standards
Provide strong technical leadership on lamination processes, materials, and adhesives
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on production issues, quality defects, and downtime, implementing effective corrective and preventative actions
Optimize machine performance, reduce waste, and improve efficiency in line with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles
Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet tight deadlines
Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and audit readiness at all times
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing production team
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, especially relating to solvents and extrusion processes
Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure high equipment reliability and uptime
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
Qualifications
•Recognised Lamination Trade Qualification (essential)
•Additional technical or production qualification (advantageous)
Experience
• 5–10 years’ experience in a lamination management role within the printing and packaging industry
Proven Experience In:
Solvent-based lamination
Solvent-free lamination
Extrusion lamination
Experience in a BRC / food-grade packaging environment is essential
Demonstrated success operating in a high-pressure, deadline-driven production environment
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
Flexible substrates (films, foils, paper)
Adhesive chemistries and curing processes
Hands-on experience with:
Ability to troubleshoot lamination issues such as:
Intermediate computer literacy, including:
Production systems / ERP systems
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
