SUMMARY:
Laboratory Technician - Durban -

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

ØAssist in research and development formula’s, by making small batch and lab scale testing (bench) for a particular product.

ØSetting product standard parameters/ procedure (specification) to ensure good quality.

ØParticipate and contribute to plant trials.

ØChecking of raw material and take random samples to ensure adherence to R&D specification standard.

ØDaily calibration of lab equipment’s to ensure accurate results to meet product specification standards.

ØConduct Test Batch or Product Quality, by taking product samples to adherence to production guidelines.

ØConduct quality audit on the finished packaged products to ensure it adhere to Chemicals quality standard and customer requirements.

ØConduct final project quality inspections, by ensuring availability of the sample for final production check-up.

ØConduct quality inspections of the production line to dispatch to customers.

ØConduct other activities as reasonably prescribed by the manager.

ØEnsuring availability of the COA, MSDS and TDS for results recording purpose.

ØAchieves quality assurance objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans. Implement quality assurance plans.

ØValidate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documentation of evidence; determining operational and performance requirements.

ØPrepare and update quality documentation based on a recognized standard such as ISO9001 and review statistical data from the production lines to identify quality problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

ØNational Diploma in Chemistry, BTech in Chemistry or Quality will be an added advantage.

Technical and Functional Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

ØIn-depth understanding of manufacturing plant structure.

ØSkilled in risk assessment and general problem-solving, using data analytics and root cause failure analysis techniques.

ØAdvanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, process safety, policies, procedures, OHS Act and other relevant legislation.

ØAdvanced knowledge of related chemistries and chemical manufacturing technologies.

ØAdvanced knowledge of engineering and engineering design principles.

ØComputer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

ØKnowledge of Quality Assurance standard Unit.
