SUMMARY:
Laboratory Technician_Required with approximately 3 years' plus experience in Feeds / Nutritional laboratory, exposure to chromatography highly advantageous and knowledge of ISO 17025 for highly reputable client in Pretoria.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

BSc or N.Dip in Chemistry
At least 3 years’ laboratory experience – working in a feeds or nutritional laboratory will be an advantage
Experience in chromatography will be an advantage
Knowledge of ISO 17025
Accuracy/attention to detail
Communication skills
Planning and organising skills
Time Management

Duties Include but not limited to the following:

Preparation of samples prior to analysis
Correct splitting and milling of solid samples
Filtration and decanting of liquid samples
Cleaning of glassware, plastic and utensils according to SOP
Drying of glassware, plastic and utensils according to SOP
Appropriate and timeous storage of clean glassware
Deep cleaning of laboratory sections as per laboratory schedule (including floors, cupboards, walls and windows)
Assisting laboratory safety officer with cleaning of chemical spill
Ensure that all chemical waste is stored in designated area
Cleaning equipment between samples according to SOP’s (Mills, ovens, vacuum cleaner and associated equipment)
Cleaning and general maintenance according to maintenance schedule
Correct storage of samples as per SOP
Discarding of old samples as per SOP
Maintaining housekeeping
Adhere and comply to all laboratory quality systems as per ISO 17025 standards
Adhere to all laboratory occupational health and safety programmes
