Laboratory Manager

SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our ISO/IEC17025-accredited laboratory.

POSITION INFO:

This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the lab with a focus on financial sustainability, effective team leadership, and consistent compliance with the quality management system—all of which have a direct impact on the strategic direction and performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of laboratory operations, including staff performance, budgets, and quality management deliverables.
• Ensure full compliance with ISO/IEC17025 standards and serve as the lab’s Nominated Representative for SANAS.
• Oversee internal audits, proficient testing schemes, equipment maintenance, procurement, subcontracting and stock control.
• Facilitate and lead daily team meetings and formal quality and management review meetings.
• Ensure accurate, traceable and well maintained records in line with quality and regulatory requirements.
• Foster a positive, efficient, and performance-driven team environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification.

• ISO/IEC 17025:2017 systems course.

• 5–10 years’ experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 testing environment.
• A strong working knowledge and demonstrated competence of ISO/IEC 17025.
• Completion of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Internal Auditing course is an added advantage (or a willingness to complete the training is essential).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
• No criminal record, not colour blind, and must have a clean bill of mental health A relevant tertiary qualification.
