A leading company within the construction and mining industry is seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior/Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its project team. The successful candidate will provide engineering support across construction and mining projects, assisting with project planning, site coordination, contractor management, quality control, and project execution. This role offers excellent exposure to site-based projects, multidisciplinary teams, and opportunities for professional development within the construction and mining sectors. The successful candidate must be willing to travel frequently to project sites Nigeria, as required.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 2–5 years' experience within the construction and/or mining industry.
• Bachelor's Degree or BEng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• Exposure to construction projects, mining operations, infrastructure projects, plant construction, or industrial projects.
• Understanding of construction methodologies, project execution, and engineering principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, MS Project, or similar engineering software will be advantageous.
• Valid passport with a willingness to travel frequently to Nigeria, and work on remote construction and mining project sites.

• Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and mining projects.
• Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed according to project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and report on project progress, technical issues, and potential project risks.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support procurement activities, including material requisitions, supplier coordination, equipment tracking, and expediting deliveries.
• Assist with project scheduling, progress reporting, budgeting, and cost monitoring.
• Participate in construction, installation, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Conduct frequent site visits to project operations in Nigeria, providing on-site engineering support and monitoring project progress.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Identify technical challenges on site and recommend practical engineering solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, site reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
• Attend project meetings and provide engineering support to multidisciplinary project teams.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
• Build technical knowledge through mentorship, site exposure, and active involvement in construction and mining projects.
