Our Client in the Technical Engineering industry has a new vacancy for a Junior Field Service Technician based in Port Elizabeth

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to service calls in accordance with the standby service contract.
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment functionality, reliability, and safety.
• Carry out workshop duties when not attending to on-site breakdowns, including but not limited to equipment assembly, disassembly, and repairs.
• Apply sound electrical and mechanical principles to support the effective operation of company projects.
• Maintain accurate and detailed service records and provide regular updates on job status.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding work progress, requirements, and any issues encountered.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, policies, and operational procedures.
• Be flexible and available to work overtime at short notice when operational needs require.

• Matric (Grade 12) with proven experience in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and respond efficiently under standby conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and be available for standby callouts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport are essential.
