POSITION INFO:

A well-established chemical manufacturing business based in New Germany is seeking a Junior SHE Officer to join their team. This opportunity is suited to a candidate looking to further develop their career within Safety, Health & Environmental disciplines in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will support the implementation and maintenance of SHE systems, risk management processes, compliance standards and internal auditing programmes across the site.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in SHE disciplines
• NDSAM qualification advantageous
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a chemical manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and planning ability
• Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & SHE Culture

• Promote SHE as a core value on site
• Lead by example in maintaining SHE standards

Risk & Compliance

• Coordinate site risk assessments
• Support legal SHE compliance and statutory requirements
• Assist with maintaining SHE policies, procedures and records

IMS & Audits

• Act as IMS Coordinator for site SOPs, work instructions and records
• Participate in internal IMS auditing programmes
• Follow up on audit findings and non-conformances

Contractor & Security Management

• Audit contractor safety files prior to work commencement
• Follow up on security investigations and incidents

Clinic & Training Coordination

• Coordinate employee medical schedules
• Assist with maintaining SHE structures and training records

Inspections & Waste Management

• Coordinate inspections of safety equipment, eye wash stations, safety showers and first aid boxes
• Develop and maintain waste identification systems per department

Incident Investigations

• Investigate incidents, complaints and non-conformances
• Maintain accurate records and corrective actions
