Junior Quality Controller (Food or Fruit/Vegetables)

SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be required to commence his/her duties as soon as possible.

POSITION INFO:

A suitable candidate would preferably be residing in the Helderberg or immediately surrounding area, have his/her own reliable transport, be willing to work night shift/overtime/extended hours should it be operationally required and be medically fit to work in a food processing facility.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Diploma or Degree in Quality Assurance / Food Science
• Have 2-3 years food safety and quality experience in a certified (HACCP/ FSSC 22000) food facility in a similar position
• Experience with Fruit and/or vegetable industry will be an added advantage

DUTIES

• Be present and ensure compliance during receiving, storing, production and dispatch processes
• Support QA manager in application and verification of processes
• Be present and check product to specification
• Check raw materials on receipt
• Identify and communicate non-conformances on product
• Complete COA on all product
• Control non-conforming product in storage in conjunction with QA manager
• Apply food safety and quality policies, standards and procedures
• Support the QA manager in all matters relating to quality control and food safety
• Assist with customer complaints
