SUMMARY:
Junior Product Designer required to deliver considered outputs to support the design process. These include sketches, concept designs, renders, mood boards, research and hands on fabrication of prototypes. Based in Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Diploma/degree in Industrial/Product design or relevant work experience.
Previous work experience is advantageous.
Basic understanding of 3D software such as CREO or Solidworks, 3DMax.
Attention to detail.
Passion for design.
Ability to work with multiple teams.

Duties and responsibilities:
Research:

Under clear guidance, research and deliver findings through visualising techniques to the studio and formulating/share own opinions and point of view.

Engagement in interactive design sessions:

Participates and interacts in creative sessions as required.

Conceptualisation:

Collate, participate and support the development of the concept.
Explore creative concepts under the guidance of senior designer.
Design solutions, under the direction of senior team members, that are within the constraints of the brief requirements.

CAD & Visualisation:

Support creative team by designing and visualizing parts of a project/concept by using visualization tools. i.e. CREO, 3DSMax etc.

Continuous Improvement:

Obtain feedback of the design outcome.
Understand the design process implications of all parties involved in the creation of the final design.
Continuously research design trends and insights of our industry and required skill set.

Adhoc:

Any other reasonable request from management including particular projects as and when needed.
