Our international client is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to join their cutting-edge technology team focused on advanced plastic recycling. POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in the design, simulation, and optimisation of Plastic-to-Chemical (PTC) processes.
Conduct material and energy balance calculations and equipment sizing.
Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers for smooth project execution.
Participate in process safety evaluations such as HAZOPs and risk assessments.
Support commissioning, start-up, and ongoing operations by analysing plant performance and identifying improvements.
Contribute to process control strategies and sustainability initiatives.
Supervise lab-scale testing and potentially visit operational sites, including occasional international travel.

Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.
2–3 years’ experience in process design, preferably in chemical or industrial plant settings (internships count).
Strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat/mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
Experience with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II, HTRI).
Proactive and curious mindset, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
English fluency essential.
Must be willing to relocate and work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site in Eindhoven.
