Junior Mechanical Draughtsman

• To support the engineering and production teams by producing accurate technical drawings and General Arrangement (GA) plans for mechanical components and ventilation systems.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (3D) and possess a solid understanding of mechanical drafting principles.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and revise detailed mechanical drawings, General Arrangements (GAs), and assembly plans using Inventor (3D).
• Interpret design sketches, concepts, and specifications to create accurate technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and workshop teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Maintain organized job files, drawing documentation, and revision control in line with internal standards.
• Assist with the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and related production documents.
• Participate in design reviews and provide drafting support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure drafting work is completed accurately and in line with project timelines.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• National Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (3D) – mandatory requirement.
• 1–2 years’ experience in mechanical drafting (internship or practical training will be considered).
• Excellent attention to detail and technical drawing accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Exposure to ventilation systems, sheet metal design, or mining-related equipment is advantageous.
• Applicants must reside in or be able to commute to the East Rand.
• A sample portfolio of previous work may be requested during the recruitment process.
