Junior Litigation Associate
Based in Sandton
R20 000 - R25 000 CTC

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Debt collection/recoveries and/or motor vehicle insurance litigation added bonus
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 1–2 years’ post-admission experience.
• General civil litigation experience is essential.
• Excellent drafting and legal research skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.

• Manage litigation matters from inception to finalisation.
• Draft summonses, particulars of claim, pleadings, notices, affidavits, applications, opinions, and correspondence.
• Attend consultations with clients, counsel, witnesses, and experts.
• Appear in the Magistrates’ Courts and attend to all court-related processes.
• Prepare trial and application bundles and brief counsel where necessary.
• Negotiate settlements and liaise with clients, counsel, advocates, sheriffs, and correspondent attorneys.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical legal advice.
• Ensure compliance with court rules, practice directives, and client service level agreements.

• Experience using Court Online, CaseLines, Legal Suite and AJS
• Experience acting for banks, insurers, or other institutional clients.
• Experience in commercial litigation.
