Role:                  Junior Legal and Compliance Officer (EE Candidates Only)

Rate:                  R25K – R30K/month

Job Type:            4 Months Fixed Term Contract

Location:             Gauteng

Availability:          Immediately

Qualifications:

• Legal degree and/or Compliance Certification/Diploma
• Successfully written and passed RE1 and RE5

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in Compliance with experience in attending to compliance matters pertaining to FAIS, FICA, Short-term Insurance Act, Long-term Insurance Act, Pension Funds Act and Medical Schemes Act (or at least majority of these).
• Financial services background, but preferably more compliance experience
• Ability to read legislation and familiarity with legal terminology
• Function under pressure and ability to work under strict deadlines
• Ability to work independently

Duties:

• Drafting of Compliance related a policies and ability to  tailor-make these to ASI’s needs for example FAIS conflicts of interest Policy, TCF Policy and FAIS Advertising Policy
• Develop best FICA practices, procedures and supply the necessary documentation (and vet current documentation) in respect thereof and training on FICA
• Drafting of relevant Compliance related risk management plans
• Facilitating changes to policies, manuals, plans, guides and client facing documentation as instructed by Executive: Legal and Compliance
• Vetting of legal contracts and agreements as well as policies
• Consider the Pension Funds Act and Medical Schemes Act and assess ASI EB and health Services space to same
• Company Secretarial such as Board packs and facilitating CIPC changes
• Facilitating Executive: Legal and Compliance with the implementation of POPIA
• Legal Secretarial
