A Leading Paper Merchant Company based in
Johannesburg/Heriotdale is currently seeking a Junior Graphic Designer.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design for print & digital based off various brand CI’s
Design of presentations
Develop new concepts & packaging
Maintain and update existing designs
Photography & Editing
Assisting senior graphic designers with artwork and layout
Design and collaborating in Catalogue and Brochure designs
Creating mock-ups and proofs
Other duties as assigned

Essential Requirements:

A National Diploma in Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design or equivalent
At least 2 years graphic design work experience in packaging and advertising.
Knowledge and experience in:

Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe InDesign

Photography & Videography skills will be a plus.

DTP Operator and imposition work will be a plus.

Good understanding of PowerPoint, and Microsoft essential, such as Outlook, Word and Excel
Strong, conceptual thinker who possesses a wide range of design principles and production methods for digital, print, packaging, branding, typography, catalogue production, and more
Demonstrate strong organizational skills in order to juggle multiple projects at the same time; keen attention to detail
Possess solid presentation, listening and communication skills
Open and receptive to design critiques, while also able to confidently and respectfully represent reasons behind design choices
Resourceful – able to problem solve and find multiple design solutions, especially under narrow parameters or strict project timelines and budgets
Self-driven, proactive, team player
Ability to function well under pressure
Willing to work in a corporate environment
Own vehicle would be beneficial
